Our Story

At Humanities Tutor, we help students feel confident and improve their grades in Humanities subjects.

Our founder, Ed, was not a naturally successful student in high school, having struggled through Year 10 before gradually finding his academic footing in Year 11 and achieving 5 40+ study scores in Year 12.

This rapid academic improvement gave him a unique understanding of the education system in Victoria, and while studying at University he stepped into tutoring.

Working for another tutoring company, he found that they offered no support or training, leaving him to work it out on his own.

Fortunately, having experienced struggling at school himself, he was able to create his own systems which taught struggling students the fundamental skills to succeed in subjects like English, Literature, Economics, Business Management and Politics.

After graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce, he started Humanities Tutor with the aim of creating a tutoring service which supported its tutors to give the best possible private tuition to students in Humanities subjects.

This philosophy is embedded in every session a HT tutor does with their students.

At Humanities Tutor, we don’t make subjects easier for our students. We make our students better at those subjects.
